Self Development Pathway

In every classroom there are children struggling to engage with their learning for a myriad of reasons. Maybe they have low self-esteem or a fear of failure, maybe they’re struggling to make friends due to a lack of confidence.

On this pathway we’ll use solution-focused techniques to help them challenge any negative self-perceptions. This will enable them to build their resilience and self-esteem, giving them to confidence to overcome challenges.

Length of treatment

6 sessions delivered weekly

Prerequisites

None required

Referral Criteria

For pupils who need support with:

  • Assertiveness
  • Low self-esteem
  • Friendship issues
  • Social skills
  • Perfectionist/fear of failure

What we will work on

  • Explore self-perception
  • Recognise, challenge and reframe any negative thoughts or behaviours
  • Solution-focused strategies to improve self-image

What we want to accomplish

  • Lower anxiety levels (as measured on YP Core 10)
  • Improved behaviour
  • Improved confidence and self-belief
  • Improved attendance and engagement with school
